Effects and more

Mixing Station

I just finished the next beta version.
You can now change every effect parameter of every effect. I’m currently using a generic user interface for all effects to save some time while developing.
Also I fixed some bugs/crashes with the layer save/load function.
And last but not least I fixed some graphic bugs that appear at a certain resolution.

The version will be uploaded in 1-2 days for all beta tester.

Got the update and planning on using it on Sunday at the jamboree I do sound for each month. But I have run into a problem. I want to use one of my tablets for the musicians to mix the 4 monitors, using the Snd -> Fader feature (so that they can switch quickly between monitor mixes). Unfortunately in this mode, there is no way to adjust the master bus faders, like you can in the limited access mode. I thought of making the custom layer handle the 4 mixbus faders. But after I set that up, the custom layer disappears. How can this be done?

Really like the FX implementation, great work.

I’d like to test the new version as well (great app btw!)

Thanks a lot, great update, FX are great. It seems as though the tap tempo feature is not working in this version? Keep up the good work. Is there a way to donate btw?

          Hi,

Yep they are broken cause of the changes I had to make for 2.01. But I’m working on it.

Yes there is, just take a look at „Support“:

      Awesome 🙂

the new version is much better, one thing: when in eq mode I cannot reset the eq anymore. it used to be like double click to reset. cannot do it anymore. please add again in a new update!

    • davidgiga1993

It’s working for me with a double tap anywhere on the eq graph.
Anyway I will take a look at it

mmm, strange .. I am using android 4.2 version …

    • Ben Mendes

another thing: when I double click on the eq graph, nothing happens, when I double click with TWO fingers in the graph I get a popup Mute Groups 🙂 really very special feature LOL

      • davidgiga1993

Hm at least the mutegroup popup is working 🙂 it is by the way accessable form any view.

Your app is one of the primary reasons why I’m leaning toward purchase of the X32 for my church mixer upgrade (I’m evaluating a few right now). All of our band musicians and tech crew have Android (no iPhone/iPad), and I need an easy, cost effective way for the musicians to control their personal monitor mix (in-ear). However, after downloading your beta app to look at, I don’t see yet a way to „idiot-proof“ its use by the musicians, ie eliminating risk of them affecting house/recording by turning phantom power off, adjusting gate (& other fx?), and muting channels. Besides, there is a clutter of controls that I know would be intimidating to many of them, ie the KISS principal would be desirable…thus it would be nice in your Setup panel to checkbox disable the display of all controls in the UI for phantom power, gate, mute, fx, etc, basically everything except for what they really want which is individual channel gain (fader), monitor output level, and EQ. Otherwise, you have done an excellent job in this app for the remote desktop engineer!

      Hi,
Only a short answer cause I’m on the road:
Did you select a mix before connection the app is limited to change only that mix. Did you tried that?

      • Stephen Kangas

Yes, I understand that the specific mixbus can be selected, eg the various mixes used for monitoring. The question/issue has to do with controls that may affect all of the mixes, eg phantom power to the microphones that need it. The impression I’m getting from reading up on the X32 is that there are a few preamp controls that are common across all mixes, inc. phantom power, trim gain, and certain effects eg gate level; with that said, the poor X32 doc and online commentary is not very clear on that stuff. I just wish to be assured that the band musicians can’t accidentally screw up the house, recording, and other mixes simply because they fat-fingered a control on their phone/tablet UI that they didn’t need/want in the first place. Know what I mean?

        • davidgiga1993

Ah okay. There is only one gate/eq/dynamic/gain/trim per channel. Thats because mixing station allows you only to change the parameters of the selected bus.
So let’s say you selected bus 1. Then you will be only able to change the sends to that bus and nothing else 🙂 if the bus is linked (for stereo inear) you will be also able to change the panning for your mix. The rest will not be accessable.
